# Speed agent setup

Speed (PKD 3D) is a browser CAD app for drones and defence hardware. Its MCP server lets an AI agent build and check models in the person's own PKD 3D tab. Use this page to connect, then follow https://tryspeed.ai/docs/prompt.md.

## How it works

- A small local MCP server runs on the person's computer. It talks to the agent over stdio and to the PKD 3D browser tab over 127.0.0.1, guarded by a random token.
- No API key and no Speed account are needed for the MCP itself. The agent runs on the person's own Claude Code or Codex subscription.
- Needs Node 20 or newer and Chrome or Edge. If Chrome asks to let PKD 3D reach apps on this device, the person clicks Allow.
- The first build call opens PKD 3D in the browser and the tab connects by itself.
- What the agent reads, including the design's numbers and pictures, goes to the person's model provider.
- Early access: the plugin repository is private. The person asks for access at https://tryspeed.ai/contact with their GitHub username.

## Claude Code

1. In a terminal, run the two commands below.
2. Restart Claude Code.
3. Paste the Speed prompt and say "done".

```sh
claude plugin marketplace add rajjobalia10/PKD-DEFENSE-4.0
claude plugin install pkd-defense-3d@pkd-tools
```

Early access: the plugin repo is private, so we add your GitHub account first. Ask at tryspeed.ai/contact.

## Codex (installs, not fully tested)

1. Clone the plugin and add it as a marketplace, as below.
2. Restart Codex.
3. Paste the Speed prompt and say "done".

```sh
git clone https://github.com/rajjobalia10/PKD-DEFENSE-4.0 ~/speed-plugin
codex plugin marketplace add ~/speed-plugin
codex plugin add pkd-defense-3d@pkd-tools
```

Installs and starts; a full build through Codex is not tested yet.

## Cursor and other MCP clients (installs, not fully tested)

1. Clone the plugin as for Codex.
2. Add this server to your client's MCP settings (for Cursor: ~/.cursor/mcp.json).
3. Reload the client, paste the Speed prompt and say "done".

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "speed": {
      "command": "node",
      "args": [
        "~/speed-plugin/plugins/pkd-defense-3d/server/index.mjs"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

Any client that runs local (stdio) MCP servers should work. Replace ~ with your full home path if the client does not expand it.

## Claude.ai and ChatGPT (web)

1. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Name: Speed. URL: https://connect.tryspeed.ai/mcp
3. Save → Connect → sign in. Leave every other field blank.
4. Start a new chat with it switched on, paste the prompt, say "done".

## Check the connection

Call `status`. A connected tab returns ok. If no tab is open, call `open_app` or ask the person to open https://connect.tryspeed.ai/design.

## Rules for agents

- Read `skill_reference {"skill":"solidcraft-modeling"}` once before the first build call.
- Call `inspect_design` first. Ask before `new_design` if the open design has features.
- Plan with `set_plan`, list every assumed value, build in small batches and run `run_physics_check` after each stage.
- Never choose FEA loads or supports silently. Results are screening grade and need an engineer's review.
- Never call a design verified, certified or flight-ready.
